Our Bookshelf
Our bookshelf texts are:

- ‘Hidden Figures’ by Margot Lee Shetterly
- ‘The Good Thieves’ by Katherine Rundell
- ‘Percy Jackson’ by Rick Riordan
- ‘A Kid in My Class’ by Rachel Rooney and Chris Riddell
The ‘bookshelf’ is a new term for our ‘class readers’, where the children can choose a ‘special’ book for a few days. We will also be doing much of our English work from these books.
Important Information
- We are timetabled to have PE every Tuesday with Mr Sykes.
- Please remember to have your Reading Record in your bag each day.
- You can choose one book from your book band, and another book of your own free choice.
- Reading is our most important Home Learning so you should aim to read for at least 15 minutes at home each day.
- Spellings are sent home for each half term and will be tested each Friday. Spare spelling lists are available if you need one (on the teacher’s bookshelf).
- You need to keep practicing your times tables using Times Tables Rock Stars
- Home Learning is not set on a specific day, but the teachers regularly suggest tasks that link to our class work (eg: topic research or fact-checking). This work can be brought into school at any time.
